Novikov is set on Berkeley Street in Mayfair, a short walk from Green Park and from other well-known restaurants such as Nobu, the venue is divided into two distinct dining areas. The Asian Restaurant specializes in Chinese and Pan Asian cuisine, with a menu designed by highly skilled and experienced Japanese-trained Head Chef Jeff Tyler. The Italian Restaurant meanwhile offers regional Italian fare with a contemporary twist.
The menu has vast options for different palates and I would recommend the Carpaccio or the creamy traditional pasta for starters. Main courses, the so much-talked about sea bass in a rock-salt crust. The fish is encased in a kilogram of salt before being roasted. The crust, which keeps the fish moist, is broken open in front of you at the table. This dish is for sharing and it is incredibly tasty and satisfying!
My opinion is: save it for a special occasion. This restaurant delivers exceptional service, recommendations and quality dining even though it is a bit too pricey. The place is beautiful and you do feel special, so treat yourself on a good day.
